Fishing Crows win prize

“Fishing for Larvae” was the title of post graduate student Jolyon Troscianko’s poster at the recent university wide Graduate School Conference. The poster described his on-going research into intelligence in New Caledonian Crows. The poster attracted a lot of interest, so much in fact that it won the "People's Choice" award for the best poster and the 1st runner up prize in the overall Poster Competition. The prize was £200 to be spent on research expenses. So we can expect to hear more about Crow and their techniques for fishing larvae soon. For more background on Jolyon’s work click here
