My main research interests are in urban and riparian ecology, particularly of species associated with green roof and exposed riverine sediment habitats. I am based in
Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences but have an association with the Centre for Ornithology through the supervision of the PhD of Emma Rosenfeld. As such I am interested in finding out how connectivity and permeability in different urban habitat mosaics influence the dispersal and population ecology of birds in urban areas. I am also studying how different species of bird use habitat on green roofs designed to emulate early successional brownfield site (brown roofs).
