The Centre for Ornithology has the support of three specialised technicians who provide expert help in conducting investigations and in maintaining our birds.
Maintenance of Birds
Our study birds are housed in an excellent series of aviaries. They are maintained by a team of highly skill technicians who have experience with a wide range of species and can ensure their daily maintenance and good long term health. They also have valuable experience in raising birds from the egg stage in both semi-natural situations and in incubators.
Workshop
Our research would not be possible without the facilities and expertise provided by the School's fully equipped mechanical and electronic workshops. The team of technical staff work closely with us on the design and building of apparatus necessary for our research.
Genomics Lab
We are fortunate to have a state of art genomics laboratory in the School who can provide a wide range of research support including sexing of birds. For full details of the service that they offer please see their web site.
